AGILITYSHIP FOR YOUTH

A 13-Week Module that is conducted either as a Standalone Programme, or Part of your Certification and Academic Curriculum

PURPOSE

This module uses our proprietary 12 Leadership Agility Practices, conceived by Dr Paul Aitken, to show students how to draw out the best in themselves and others to conceive a desirable personal brand.

By introducing students to HUMAN-CENTERED leadership practices, they become

* More AGILE and RESILIENT when facing change (and transition) challenges, and

* Develop a MINDSET that is inclusive and open to improved performance.

* It also aims to provide a ROADMAP for lifelong leadership agility development.

PRIORITY

Why you need this Module and Programme?

Our research indicates that employers across the world want Three things from their new entrants (and which students should aim to develop):

1. The Practical Intelligence to do the job your applying for (this is why you’ve done your qualification)

2. The Ability to Express and draw on your passion for the job, employer and sector, and

3. The Ability to Deliver work and projects successfully with and through other people under conditions of constant change, i.e. leadership agility.
PROCESS

CORE BUILDING BLOCKS:
COMMUNICATIONS | RELATIONSHIP BUILDING | KNOWLEDGE SHARING

TRACK ONE:
* Curriculum based, longer term sessions delivered over 13 weeks, with each session lasting between 1.5 to 2 hours

* This format includes Competency Based Assessment and Self Directed Learning Sessions integrated into the curriculum

TRACK TWO:
* Intensive, Interactive modular based workshops delivered over 3 days (can be segmented into 6 half day sessions)

Note:
i. Programmes will be delivered using multimedia, interactive discussions and experiential learning elements

ii. Service learning element can be integrated to the programme, if required.

* Determine how personal values motivate behaviours and goal setting in themselves and others, and how to leverage off this to more effectively engage with the world.

INTRODUCTORY SESSION

LESSON 1 - NAVIGATE THE CHALLENGES, CHANGES AND TRANSITIONS
* Defining Leadership and Leadership Agility in the context of school and work.

* Undertaking of our ALPD Diagnostic to determine strongest to weakest Leadership Agility Practices.

* Market yourself: Seeing Yourself as a Personal Brand.
 
 

REFLECT PHASE

LESSON 2 - PERSONAL VALUES SENSITIVITY
* Discover the personal values that motivate you and others to go the extra mile.

* Motivational Drivers.
LESSON 3 - EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
* Discussing job market fears, concerns and apprehensions.

* Identifying steps to address and improve.

* Developing Emotional Intelligence.
LESSON 4 - SENSE MAKE-GIVE
* Improve the quality and purpose of interactions.
LESSON 5 - MINDFUL OF IMPACT
* Engage in open, frank and reflective conversations to improve critical decision-making.

* Translating thought to words.

* Being assertive in one to one conversations and dialogue.

REWARD PHASE

* Setting and monitoring achievable goals.
LESSON 13 - AGILITY RESILIENCE
* True Personal Branding.

* Discard old ways of working that are no longer fit for purpose and be open to new approaches.

* Be ready for challenges.
